  • MARCH 2021 | RECIPE CHALLENGE from JOYCE PAUL DESIGNS

Hi Everyone! It's Joyce here of Joyce Paul Designs.

My country (Netherlands) is still in partial lockdown, but luckily the government decided to reopen the schools (again!). My kids are sooo happy to be back at school and learn and play with their friends -- and this single Mommy is so happy to have a little bit more free time on her hands. hehe

I am also super excited to be hosting my very first challenge over here at The Digital Press! This challenge is a RECIPE CHALLENGE and it's all about making sure that you include ALL of the "ingredients" listed below to create your layout.

    Here's the Recipe:

    • 1 paper
    • 1 frame
    • 1 photo
    • 3 different brushes (these can be flowery brushes, paint strokes, paint splatters, digital stamps, etc. -- found in either .ABR or .PNG format)
    • 1 scribble
    • 1 piece of foliage
    • 2 flowers
    • 1 element of your choice duplicated 5 times (you may resize, rotate, etc. or leave the duplicated elements as is and place them wherever you like on your layout)

And here is my sample page:

I can't wait to see what you'll come up with and I hope that you'll have as much fun creating your layout as I had creating this challenge and sample layout.

    Have fun

    • Once you have completed your project... post it in the CHALLENGE GALLERY here at TDP, and then create a post here in this thread and link us to a copy of that gallery item.
    • Your completed project must be posted in this thread by 11:59pm ET on the last day of this month in order to receive credit.
    • Anyone who completes ALL SIX (6) of the challenges at TDP this month will receive 50% OFF ONE ENTIRE PURCHASE any time during the following month.
    • Additionally, anyone who exclusively uses products by the designer hosting each individual challenge... will be entered to receive $5 to spend in that designer's shop (so in theory, you could be eligible to win 6 different $5 gifts if you use the correct designer's products in each challenge this month!)
    • Have fun! Let us know if you have any questions about this challenge (you can comment below, and even tag me by typing Joyce Paul in your post, if needed!)

I felt like I needed a title and a little string but otherwise followed the recipe.

I feel I have to point out that my duplicated element is the "o" in the title, LOL. Thank you for the challenge! I didn't know how I was going to limit myself to only one paper but when I found a blocked paper with a pattern included in it I knew I was going to survive this challenge.

Love the grungy worn feel of that frame that you turned on it's side. Your type and alpha treatments are beautiful! Very inspirational. OMG your new kit is going to be a real HIT! Can't wait for the reveal. Good stuff!

Took me a while to find an element to duplicate five times - but ended up going with stitching and I love how it came out!

This was somewhat of a stretch for me.... trying to choose the paper and only sticking to one... hehehe.
My element repeated is the button
Added in tag to use for my journaling
