JOURNALING: I was first introduced to this little bakery in the heart of German Village (Columbus OH) when I took a Columbus Food Tours “All Dessert Tour” in 2013.  It was where the tour started and ended so, naturally, I lingered when it was over to buy some goodies.  I’ve tried to go back to this bakery every time I visit family in Ohio.  My trip in October 2016 was no exception.  The bakery is noted for their classic shortbread cookies and colorful macarons.  (That brown macaron with the cream colored circle is their “Buckeye” macaron.) This time I also couldn’t resist their almond croissant and pain au chocolat.  Pistacia Vera is the “2017 Best Dessert at a Restaurant” winner as determined by “Columbus Alive”.  This news publication wrote about the macarons: “Sweet, light and chewy Parisian perfection served in a cellophane bag.” YUM!
