Welcome to Week 3 of Summer Camp here at The Digital Press! I really hope you all are enjoying your time here at camp, learning some new things, meeting some new people, and just plain having fun!

My name is Erin and I am your counselor this week for the WEEK #3 ARTS & CRAFTS challenge! Once again, for the Arts & Crafts project you'll be making a layout using tutorials from our blog. HOWEVER, this week you must choose THREE of our tutorials and use the techniques in them to create a layout or project of your choice. You might notice that each week Arts and Crafts gets a little bit more challenging, but that is what summer camp is all about; expanding our horizons and challenging ourselves.

To make it easy to browse all of the many tutorials that can be found on The Digital Press's blog, the entire collection of tutorials is cataloged on our TDP Pinterest board for tutorials FOUND HERE. There are so many tutorial topics for you to choose from, that you will surely find something that will challenge you as a scrapper -- whether it's focused on photography, journaling, Photoshop techniques, or other design techniques.

To give you some inspiration, here is a layout I created, using the following 3 TDP blog tutorials...
Using a Color Cast on a Photo
    Using Digital Cut Files
    Creating a Stamped Title

[ I used this month's TDP shop collab, Firefly ]

Creative team member Jan also made a page for this week's Arts and Crafts. Here is her layout (using Blending Text, Combining Templates, and Creating a Cut-out)...

[ this layout uses Wild Child by Rachel Etrog Designs and Dreams Templates by Designed by Irma. ]

Here are the rules of this challenge:
    • Create an original layout or project using THREE of the tutorial posts found on TDP's blog (linked above) using 100% TDP products. Use three tutorials that you haven’t used before here at camp!
    • Post your layout by 11:59pm PT on Saturday 7/21/2018 in the CHALLENGE GALLERY
    • Start a post, below, in which you can link us up to your layout from the gallery... and also link us to the tutorials you used to complete your layout or project
    • Don't forget to track your badges for SUMMER CAMP! If you need more information on how to do this, see HERE.
I can't wait to see what you create, and remember to also tell us which tutorials you chose for this week's challenge! Happy Scrapping!

Okay, three that are new to me: Alternative Uses for Themed Products (used a kit about sharks/beach for a page about an outdoor concert that was most decidedly not anywhere near the beach ... nor were there any sharks), Creating A Cut-Out (tried the inner shadow technique for the first time), & Removing Objects from Photos (why was this trick not already in my repertoire?! Anyhow, I used it to remove some random dude from the background between those two cute adults in the rectangular photo.)

Summer Camp week 3 Arts and Crafts
I have followed these 3 tutorials
      " Then and Now"
      " Creating Cut Outs"
" Alternate uses for themed products"
I have recoloured several of the papers and elements from this Christmas kit by Kim Broedelet. By blending 2 of the papers from the kit I arrived at a mustard colour instead of the red Christmassy colour. As we are constantly being told.....try using your blend will be amazed at the different looks you can get.

        Oh pretty!

And I love your change of hair color too - fits in with blending that paper to change the color

Feeling frustrated!!! I wanted to have this done tonight because I am busy the next two nights, but I can't get the type inside a shape to work on PSE18 with the directions from the tutorial. I will try to work on it again at lunch tomorrow, so if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate that. Thanks

Ended up using a different tech.

Though I don't wear tshirts I love to take screenshots of those with camping (or book/reading) sayings that I like.

I used the following tutorials for my page:
      Playing with Pocket Pages
      Creating a Cut Out
      Adding Texture

I liked the idea of playing with the lines of a pocket page and having items outside the pocket. I need to play with this more. It was hard for my mind to let the order of lines go I use PSE so I couldn't play with the effects for my cut out much.I liked the difference adding some texture made. I liked the texture of the solid paper in the All Around kit by Creashens but when I added it in and blended my original colors changed. I reread the tutorial and darkened by texture paper which did the trick. I believe that I will be revisiting these tutorials. Thanks for the challenge!

Awesome! and you did a gorgeous job of playing outside the lines here - I know it can be tough, but it can also be so freeing!
