You definitely rocked getting multiple photos on your page and your journaling / title work is great too. I like that you journaled ON TOP of your photo. That's really neat! Looks like y'all got a lot done this day and you scrapped it beautifully!

I love messing with templates too! It was pretty clever to split your photo between the two spots. And getting text into shapes can be really fun so I'm glad you tried this. I love the softness of your page and the story it tells.

So this time I used Flourish | Your Recoloring Skills & How To Use Alpha Sheets (tried a different technique than the one I usually use). And I was inspired by this article that our own dawnfarias posted about over in the Advice Columns.

oh, and it's possible, mocamom, that Leah mentions that in the video. I'll admit that I just read through the instructions in lieu of watching her do the recoloring.

Love this page caliten! I saw it in the gallery, left you some love, and immediately came to check out this thread. Love seeing all the tutorials that inspired people! I did want to give a quick tip about recoloring an element in your layered file. You can clip the hue/saturation layer to your element and thus prevent yourself from opening up a new document but still having the changes be made to only the one layer. Doing your recolor 'live' like that really helps quickly see when you're satisfied with how the element is matching everything else. Then merge down if you like, or don't. Also, mocamom : if you want to save your recolor, I always use the same file name but add 'mod' to the end of it. That way it saves right next to the original but I can tell which is the modified version.

I tried doing that, dawnfarias, but it adjusted all the layers under the element too. Most likely operator error, but I'll have to give your live technique another try.

I'm so glad you learned how to use them! That is a GREAT photo. I can't imagine how you straddled his back without falling off. Love that your journaling goes across the diagonal!

Okay that is WAY cool Tiffany! I love the cut out letters from your photo and I use journaling strips all the time so this is a great tutorial for me to check out. You made such a pretty page with these. I love the blockiness of it and the way you extended the bottom papers off the page!!

I love the treatment that you used on this photo and that text cut out is perfect. I can see why you wanted to lift that beautiful page and know that you did an amazing job of lifting it!

I used the Realistic Ribbon Wrap Technique and Tips to Easily Recolor Elements. I recolored the blue trim ā€“ it was originally a blue green trim and I made it navy blue.
