  • SUMMER CAMP SING-ALONG

Hey there campers! No camp experience is complete without at least one sing-along, so let's get one started. The idea here is that I'll provide a line from a song, and the next person has to ID the song title and singer, then post their own lyric for the next person to ID. Here's an example:

"I see a little silhouetto of a man"

and the next person responds Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, and then posts a song lyric (just one line) of their own choosing. Make sense?

Let's get this singing started then!

    "Ev'rybody dance now!"

(ps - I apologize ahead of time if you spend the next hour singing either of those songs for the rest of the day.)

Oh oh oh, I know this! This was one of my choir songs in high school. The name of the song is Simple Gifts, and it was originally written by Joseph Brackett. It is amazing how some things just stick in my head, but I can't remember what I ate for dinner yesterday.

      OK here is mine...

Merry Happy by Kate Nash, and I have to admit, I don't know that I've heard this one before.

And I'm going to offer up this one, more than just a single line, because my 10 yo daughter belted it out (very unexpectedly) in the car this evening:

            Person man, person man
Hit on the head with a frying pan
Lives his life in a garbage can
            Person man

but after this, back to just one line, please.
