  • WEEK # 1 | LETTERS HOME

Hello campers! I hope you are enjoying your Summer Camp experience so far! I am La'Shawn, your camp counselor in charge of Letters Home!

Letters Home is a journaling challenge. Those are always my favorite challenges, and I am excited to share this one with you guys.

This week's Letters Home will be a blast from the past. You will need to create a page and journal a favorite (or stand out) childhood memory. Now, I realize not everyone is going to have a moment they will want to scrap about. As such, feel free to scrap a favorite memory of your own... or your child's, your spouse's, your parent's, etc. Although I never was fortunate enough to go to Summer Camp when I was a child, I did spend my summers with my Grandmother at her work. My sister and I had a blast every single summer. That is the topic of my Letter Home this week.

Here is my layout to give you an idea of the challenge:

I used Good Stuff by Anita Designs for my layout.

Also, here is another example by another TDP creative team member, Amy.

    The Rules:
    1. Create a layout or project that keeps to the theme given (a favorite childhood memory)
    2. Journaling must be at least 100 words long
    3. You page/project must be ready and uploaded into the challenge gallery by 11:59pm PT on Saturday, July 8.
    4. After you have uploaded the page in the challenge gallery, please link it up and share it here in this thread, as well.

That is it, guys! Take those rules and run with it! I am so excited to see your letters home this week. Please feel free to hit me up if you have any questions. I am your camp counselor, after all. Happy scrapping and strolling down memory lane!

rofl mocamom I'm not that old....j/k - my dad was a good picture taker. We've got most of the holidays covered. In a box at my moms, I was lucky to grab a few albums and scan in some pics a couple of years ago. I need to go back for more.

That's what I mean by saying you were lucky to have this picture! My parents didn't really keep ANY of our pictures or even their own. I have just a few of my childhood. I'm so jealous you have more to go and get

oh what lovely memoreis - we were a bit like that with eating out and getting burgers too - I know it was such a thrill when we were considered old enough to manage a BIG burger instead of the child size one!

Isn't it amazing how kids can pick up where they left off even after not seeing each other for an extended period of time?! Sounds like you have some wonderful memories!

I didn't see the "Journaling must be at least 100 words long" rule until AFTER I'd posted my layout. I had my WP program do a word count and I made it - 126 words! Whew!

Hey Lisa! I added your layout to the post. For some reason it never works if you add link/attachments. All you need to grab is the BBC code (Top line on the R hand side of your layout in the gallery). Copy & Paste that in your post & your beautiful layout will show up!
