  • Photoshop CC Updates are the bomb dot com folks!

If you haven't updated yet- GO RIGHT NOW!!! If you haven't switched over to the CC version- GO RIGHT NOW!!

Some of the COOLEST new features are:

    1. Content Aware crop tool

    2. Select & Mask has TOTALLY changed how you 'refine edge' & I can't wait to use it!

    3. My most favorite- Some of the type tool features- especially the on-canvas alternate glyphs if you select a letter!

This super photoshop woman http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/ explains it all so easily!

I watched a few of her videos. I'm apprehensive about upgrading to the new version b/c of my plug-ins b/c it's always a hassle to install them again but I know I will soon.

I'm holding onto CS for as long as possible. I always say that I'll only upgrade to CC when they have a tool that'll extract my elements automatically, but the glyph feature is long overdue and is soooo tempting LOL.

The subscription is an issue for me: it means you don't own the program, you can use it (and all those fab new feature that are very tempting, I have to admit) as long as you pay, but if you stop you not only lose the ability to create future projects, but also to access past ones. Like if you'd gain back the weight you lost when you stop your gym subscription! LOL In the long run, it's gonna be WAY more expensive for someone like me (who worked with CS2 forever before switching to CS5, and now CS6). If you need the latest version all the time (for a professional usage, for example), that's very interesting indeed! But that's not my case, so I'm going to stay "vintage" with CS6! LOL

I totally understnad. I upgraded from PSE (I never could justify spending the big sum at once for CS)- and with a great coupon- so the price would have been similar to the new PSE version. I still have my PSE installed- so I can always go back if I have to- but I just love CC so much.

That's how I feel, too. I used CS3 until just before CS6 came out (bought CS5 during the transition time when upgrading to CS6 was free), and I got both of those with an educational discount, so I was paying $150 for software I'd use for 3+ years. One day I know my beloved CS6 won't be compatible with a future computer, but I'll keep using it until I'm forced to upgrade! [Looking away from the fancy new features--I probably shouldn't have tempted myself by opening this thread!]

I need to see if we can afford the €12.09 per month. I would prefer to buy the program but we also have netflix & spotify and it's kind of the same principal.....you don't own the music/movies but you are able to listen to it. I'm really tempted to do this. Yes, going to husband now to see if he's fine with me getting a CC subscription. I do use CS every single day !! hahaha

Indeed I didn't like very much new select&mask feature, refine selection was more easy to use.

shoot! I've only used it once & it worked SO MUCH BETTER around my daughters head with all her little fly away hairs! I'm pretty sure all the same sliders & such are there- maybe just have to fiddle with it more. Sorry!

Subscription is also an issue for me; I use PSE-11 and can do most everything I need with it. If anyone recalls, Elements for a few years had a dark background workscreen and I couldnt work with it because of my vision; they may go back to dark, and what do I do then? Frankly, they're constantly changing things just to say they did something for a new version, and most of what they do isn't all that ...

I didn't upgrade my PSE every year for that reason. Unless it had a new feature that I HAD TO HAVE- I stuck with my older version. I think I had 7, then 10 then 12 before I went to the CC plan. I love it though- I felt very restricted by PSE but if you're happy with it- it is a GREAT program for scrapping!
