  • WELCOME TO NSD 2016 AT THE DIGITAL PRESS!

WELCOME TO OUR BIG NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY (NSD) CELEBRATION AT TDP!

Need a road map? We know there's a lot going on, and we hope this post will help guide you.
    1. STORE-WIDE SALE (FRI-SAT-SUN-MON) --- 50% OFF our brand new Special Edition collection (launching Fri 5/6), 40% OFF almost everything else in the store, and some extra special deals and grab bags that will probably blow your mind! Check the newsletter on Friday 5/6 for more info!
    2. CHALLENGES --- We've got 7 different challenges planned this weekend (1 on Thurs 5/5 to kick things off, and 2 each day on Fri-Sat-Sun). Participate in as many as you'd like -- and for every challenge you complete, you'll earn one entry in each of our 7 NSD challenge prize drawings. Make sure you stop by THIS THREAD to leave us your prize ranking info!
    3. GAMES --- We started the games on Sunday 5/1, and have launched a new one each day since... and we'll add 2 per day on Fri-Sat-Sun, as well. What's the difference between a challenge and a game? Mainly, the games are just quick/fun activities that usually only take 1-2 minutes to complete. Challenges, on the other hand, are more involved and typically require you to make something/scrap a page/etc.
    4. WIN YOUR WISHLIST --- This promotion launched on Sunday 5/1, and the winner will be announced in the TDP newsletter on Friday 5/6. The deadline for entering this giveaway is Wednesday 5/4 at 11:59pm PT.

Meanwhile, we've already noticed a lot of new faces in our forum in the past few days... and we'd love to get to know each of you better! Thus... if you're new around these parts, please leave a post in this thread that tells us a little about you! Doesn't have to be anything formal or in-depth... just a few fun facts. For instance, "I love coffee ice cream and hide it from my husband/kids under the frozen peas in the freezer." #TrueStory

    ROFL Laura that's funny.
I'm not new around these parts. But I'll give you all a fun fact about me....
I am a total Nike sneaker head. I have a serious fetish and love that they have the online system where you can design your own sneakers!!!

SandyPie I have the same foot problem. I have found not all Sketchers work though and flip flops kill my feet/back. Have you found a brand you like/love?

Since today is Thursday when will we find out about the challenge today? Oops! I just saw the challenge for today!

Laura Passage and bcgal00 Thank you so much. I can see the challenge checklist! I love challenges but I don't always have time to do them all.

No shoe fetish for me but now that I have foot problems I almost always wear Fitbits. They are kinda expensive but if my feet hurt...even in sneakers.

I was born in Germany, live in South Africa and love Siamese cats and chocolate, not necessarily in that order.

I'm new to the site; I only found it a couple of weeks ago and quickly filled my wishlist! I've held out only because I knew ISD was coming up!

uhh.. Fact... I have a really hard time shopping anymore because I'm too hyper-aware about labor issues, environmentalism, and rampant consumption. For example, when I walk into Target and see the goodies section up front, the culturally trained American in me gets excited, but the scholar in my brain quickly jumps in and says, "Do you really need to buy poorly made things, made from chemicals, and put together by underpaid, exploited workers in China or otherwise?" Yeah.. total buzz kill. On the flip side, I love shopping for digital scrapbooking stuff because (a) it won't take up space in my house, (b) it supports individual artists, and (c) I use it to create pages that I can look back on for years to come. People think they'll remember when they get older, but they won't remember with the clarity that they imagine. Keeping a diary (and scrapbook) makes a world of difference...

So much YES to all of this! I am already amazed when I look through my scrapbooks at layouts from just a year or two ago... at how much I don't remember, and then I read the journaling and am like, 'oh wow, I had forgotten that!' hahaha

Hi everyone!!! I am not new to the site but I am new to the forums! I am SO looking forward to this National Scrapbooking Day! So much fun stuff that it's almost too much to handle! LOL
Thanks for having me as your guest!

Here's three fun facts about me:
I love to color coordinate so much that when I hangout my laundry you will never see 2 different colors of clothes pins on one piece of clothing! I know....I am weird.
I love croissants with peanutbutter and chocolate flakes. Of course that croissant needs to be prepped straight out of the oven so the peanutbutter and chocolate flakes can melt! YUM!
I love the smell of coffee but hate the taste. I am a real tea addict!

Mirjam, I color-coordinate my closet. Or maybe I really mean I 'color-organize' it. All of my clothes are hanging in rainbow order. It drives me crazy if they get messed up. ROTFL

I am new here, I am a beginner to digital scrapbooking, but have been doing paper scrapbooking for years. I have five children under the age of nine and take over 1000 pictures each month. I am loving it so far. I love my husband and my family and the great outdoors!

Welcome to TDP! I was a paper-scrapper-turned-digital-scrapper once, also! Once you go digital, it messes with your head a little and you never see the world the same way again! hahaha ...for instance, I got so used to being able to re-size embellishments, or re-color papers, etc... that I found myself sometimes walking through craft stores and wanting to do the same to the physical products! LOL

Welcome!! Once you go digi, you never go back. lol. Of course I'm a hybrid gal, so I do have some embellishments like ribbon and buttons, but I still mostly do digital. My layouts (when I create one) are always digital....you can save so much time, money (because you can reuse it over and over) and the mess....what mess?

Welcome! my little ones, now big, are close too and I found digital to be SO much better because it made less mess AND I could personalize layouts etc for a certain child then another for me to keep in a family book much easier than paper. Now if I could just get rid of my paper stash... I pair down a little bit every now and then, but not nearly enough.

I was wondering if all of the grab bags were posted? I had my eye on a few things from Scotty Girl Design and Creashens but didn't see that either of them had a grab bag. Thanks!

I believe that all of the products are live, yes... but not all designers do those sorts of promotions. I know Scotty Girl has in the past, but she was out of town all of last week and she may have decided that doing the Create Your Own Grab Bag was too much to tackle for this weekend. You could always message either one of them to ask. Most of the time, forum PMs will generate e-mails sent to people when the PMs are sent... so it's a decent way to reach people (not foolproof, but decent haha).

I joined the forum in January. I try to fit in scrapping whenever I can. I love chocolate and peanut butter - which surprises many people since I am a registered dietitian Looking forward to playing for my first iNSD!

Everything in moderation. Isn't that what they say about "bad foods"? I know the more I try to avoid those kinds of things, the faster I find them in my hand/mouth. hahaha!

Hi everybody! I'm new to the forum, too. I registered a while ago, but I don't think I've actually done anything until now.
A fact that explains me is that I love animals, especially cats, and rats, and dogs, and raccoons and ,.. I could keep listing pretty much forever. My school kids (I teach middle school math) think I'm a crazy cat lady and are forever tagging me in cat pictures on Facebook.

Yes to this! Love the smell of coffee ... even the taste (I mean, who doesn't love coffee ice cream?!) ... but I don't drink coffee!! Too acidic for me.

Have you tried the Folgers "Simply Smooth" they have lower acidity. I have the same problem and these work for me. They even have in decaf. (This chronic insomniac can't drink regular after 2pm or I won't sleep that night.)

I get horrible heartburn from coffee so I get my caffeine from diet pepsi (not very often because of how bad it is for me) or from tea.
          Working...
