The new format of Challenges

I am so sad that they changed the way that the monthly Challenges are done. I used to do all the Challenges every month, but now I don't do any of them,

I don't keep my kits all together or sorted my designer - all my kits are sorted into categories, and then those categories are sorted. For instance - all Winter themed items are in one directory which has sub-directories like Brads, Titles, Word Art, etc.

So, for me to join in on the challenges, I would have to create a new directory for my digital files sorted by designer. I have over 1800 kits, so that would be a lot of work and a lot of space on my hard-disk. I think & design by theme not by designer, so the new format is not working for me.

Maybe using the search option in your windows folder can help. For example my files all start with my designer name (letters) : ngd
So if you type ngd in the search box in your brad folder I am guessing that all my brads would come up.

I keep my things by kits so I can't show you how it looks when I try a search in one of my folders but when I tried in a folder for freebies with a mix of designers for example it worked pretty well for my file naming. It might not work too well depending on the letters the designer use but it might help you find them in order of that name and then pick the thin you need.

If you want to try and need a specific designer code I can look it up for you.

I already know that Cornelia Designs starts with CD so it might be a little more difficult to separate from other things but give it a try. It could be easier than it is now.

@Dragonhome I have a few folders on my computer that are as messy as my brain. I use the method Nini described to find what I'm looking for. It definitely helps to narrow things down and I think most of us designers use the underbar after our names, so mine would indeed be gdd_. I have both a Mac and a Windows pc and it works well on both. I hope Nini's tip helps you so that you can take part in the challenges again.

I have to say I agree with Dragonhome. I enjoyed doing challenges where I could mix and match designers to create a page. I also enjoyed the creativity of the challenges. I feel pressured to purchase products from designers instead of wanting to purchase the products., so I'm doing any of them.
I hope it changes soon; until then ...
