    Doing anything for Valentine's Day?

I'm probably going to buy myself a box of Russel Stovers and get each of my kids something chocolate as a treat, and we'll probably play some board games together. That's about the extent of our Valentine's celebration. I'm a single mom, so no romantic extravagance for me LOL. What about you?

Sometimes it is soooo nice to have a quiet house to yourself.

We are such a bunch of romatics aren't we!! I bought my hubby a box of chocolates, and he gave me a night off cooking (so we went out to a carvery) - and we are happy with that!
I did buy some heart shape confetti balloons (that were a real pain to get blown up and the confetti inside!) and a heart bunting thing from the £1 shop to stick up, and made cupcakes for the kids to have in their packed lunch, and I cut out a heart from red paper and just wrote a silly joke, or I love you on it, and put it in with their lunches - so I feel that I made a reasonable effort this year!

I'm taking my 15 year old son to a BYU men's volleyball game, leaving my wife with an empty house (per her request!) LOL

I used to get heart shaped pizza at Papa Murphy's to cook at home, but sadly we don't have anywhere here that does heart-shaped pizzas that I know of. Guess we could always make one. Enjoy yours!!

Unfortunately, I will be out of town for work travel in Baton Rouge, LA for a couple of audits. My husband is from Italy and immigrated to the States about 4 1/2 years ago. He is an Executive Chef at his restaurant here in Florida. So, he is always SLAMMED with reservations on Valentine's Day. They already have over 120...reservations for the holiday. So, we never can enjoy "the day of". He's off work today and I'll travel out tomorrow afternoon. So, we actually exchanged gifts today. He surprised me with a dozen of the most gorgeous red roses and a box of Lindt truffles. Such a keeper and sweet sentimental soul (always).

My DH is in Florida at a business conference while I'm here in icy cold Michigan dealing with 3 kids off of school. I think my middle son might have a basketball game on VD. Knowing him, he'll want Taco Bell for dinner. I'm thinking of taking my oldest son to look at colleges this weekend.

I dislike the whole commercialisation as well, but love chocolate any day of the year.
