  • Three Weeks - Eek!!

So I've been MIA for the past couple of weeks - and today marks three weeks before I head to the airport for my one-way ticket home.

    BUT …

I have so much to do!

Of course, waking up to a freezing cold apartment this morning and ZERO power is nice. Not. Thankfully, my car is being detailed this morning (as preparation for it being sold), so I'm hanging out in a McDonalds while I wait for it to be done. People-watching on a Sunday morning is interesting.

Amson -- Carolyn, headed home, to Canberra! All my furniture has now been sold, and I'm "camping" in my apartment for the next week, then into a hotel for the final week (my lease runs out, so the timing worked well). Just need to sell my car ... that's the last item. Checked bags are packed. Small "what I'll wear for the next two weeks" bag is packed. Getting closer now ...

I'd love to catch up sometime. I was down there last week as Dad had just got out of hospital and will go down again sometime after Christmas. Hope all goes well for you Kat Hansen .

Amson - that would be wonderful. Sorry to hear about your Dad. Hopefully his recovery goes well.

So, here I am ... Canberra, Australia. Phew. What a whirlwind the past couple of days have been. Let's see ... landed Tuesday (Australia time) just before lunch. Wednesday was confirming my bank account information, getting a new phone, getting a modem for internet at the house (Mum doesn't need it, but I do), getting Medicare paperwork for health insurance ... oh, and a job interview!! I was, literally, emailing the HR person while sitting at the Los Angeles airport waiting for my flight ... and I have a second, follow-up interview on Monday for this job. Looking at getting a car, and got a message from my cousin today to see if I was in the market for a car - she might have one for me! *fingers crossed*

Summer is wonderful - and it looks like I just barely missed snow on the U.S. east coast when I left last weekend.
