  • Favorite snacks?

So I'm about 98% sure I'm going to commit to doing Whole30 soon, and I'm looking for new snack ideas. So, tell me, what are you favorite HEALTHY snacks, and then for fun, what are you favorite UNHEALTHY snacks?

Right now I'm really digging carrots and hummus for a healthy snack, and my all time (as an adult) favorite snack is Pepperoncini Kettle Chips. I dislike and generally (no, honestly, always) avoid regular pepperoncini, but those chips, oh do I love them. I was crushed to see that my grocery store is going to stop carrying them (or they're being discontinued by KC), but I'm thinking that in the grand scheme of my plans to eat better, this is probably a really good thing.

Almonds or sugar snap peas - I am trying to get over some stomach trouble, so I have been eating a really restricted diet (no sugar, no white carbs, no yeast and not many fruit!). The thing that I have seemed to miss the most are crunchy apples, and chocolate brownies, so I guess brownies are my unhealthy snack!

I haven't heart of Whole30, but it wounds like whole foods for 30 days, or maybe a whole 30 days of snacking on whatever you want - is that about right?!

It’s a gut reset/elimination diet that can be used it eliminate or at least reduce symptoms of food intolerance, IBS and other GI issues. No gluten, no sugar, no dairy, no legumes, but lots of quality protein (including eggs), veggies and some fruits.

I have zero idea what foods are Whole 30, but here's what I like. I am obsessed with guacamole lately. Wholly Guacamole makes 100 calorie bowls of it that are perfect portion size. I am also loving Peach Cheerios, sometimes for breakfast and sometimes to snack on. In winter, I ate a ton of Sumo Mandarin Oranges, but now that it's spring, I cannot find them anymore. I think they are only available a few months of the year. And, I haven't eaten it in a while because everyone else in my house is allergic to peanuts and I can only eat it when I am home alone (which isn't often)... but I love nilla wafers with peanut butter. SO delicious.

They make peach Cheerios? I so rarely go down the cereal aisle that I didn’t even know!

They DO make Peach Cheerios! My family loves cereal, but my husband and daughter really love the sugary ones. I've been on a mission to find some slightly healthier ones they like and that's how I discovered Peach Cheerios.

I overdid it on Honey Nut Cheerios in high school and literally haven’t eaten a single Cheerio since. I’m glad that you’ve found at least one that your whole family likes though. That makes shopping easier.

I have recently found some fruit bars called That's It. They come in 2 fruit combos like Apple Strawberry (my favorite), Apple Cherry, Apple Blueberry, Apple Mango and a few other flavors that I can't think of. The thing about them is that they are literally just the fruit...1 apple and then different quantities of the second fruit depending on the type. They have no preservatives (they last a lot longer than you think they would), and they actually taste good! I have found them at our local grocery store, and at Target. Google them...seriously.

I love nuts, almonds and macadamias are the best.
Unhealthy snacks would be chocolate and chips/crisps.
I know that I have to eat healthily again, but I plan to do the KETO thing - it works for me gut wise and losing weight wise. If only I weren't such a carb addict.

I'm a veggies and dip kinda girl. I eat (or try hard to) low carb. I lost 30 lbs by cutting back on them and walking 20mins a day. For a cheat... it would be anything carb related... like Pizza... LOL

My go-to is a handful of raw almonds. Yum! We also eat a lot of carrots/celery. I make a homemade ranch dip with greek yogurt that's pretty tasty (prob not whole 30 tho!)

For fun- I'm a junk food junky- chips are especially my downfall- if they are in the house- they are in my mouth. NO control whatsoever- which means I try to NEVER buy them!

haha I am like that with a certain type of biscuit - milk chocolate hobnobs - they are an English thing, and they really don't agree with me, but if I have them in the house, I just can't resist them! I guess I haven't even thought about buying them for a while. because I didn't think of them when Carrie asked about fav junk snack! Yay that must mean I am winning!
