  • IN FOCUS 2019 -- WEEK 1 -- BEGINNING

    .

Welcome to our first photo prompt of IN FOCUS 2019!

This one should be easy, and fun... because this week, we simply want you to take a photo of a
    BEGINNING

That's it! Easy, right? As you go through your week, simply find something that fits that word (hopefully something that actually helps you capture this particular chapter of your life, if you look back on it in a year, or 5 years, etc.)... snap a photo... and then follow the instructions you'll find HERE IN THIS THREAD so you can come back to this thread, start your own post down below, and share your photo with us!

Then, make sure you check back again next Monday for our next photo prompt of IN FOCUS 2019!

I am claiming my spot for the month!

Here is my week 1 photo....BEGINNING. I know it is cliche to do a photo of a calendar, but I just bought this cute calendar from a girl's shop that I found on Instagram and I just love it. She also does these podcasts that are so inspirational! She made me feel like I could actually make goals this year and stick to them, so it is like a new beginning for me. This calendar reminds me of that.

One of my goals this year is to declutter my home. A promp in my passion planner was to take a step this week towards your goal no matter how small. I decided I could make a start by cleaning off my dresser top. Now just looking at it every time I am in my bedroom makes me happy. This is just the BEGINNING of my tidy up and declutter 2019 project.

I love it! We decluttered right before we got our cats and it was so nice to throw a ton of stuff away!

yay for decluttering, I do't quite have the courage to show you a picture of my windowsil, which is the area I need to tackle first, I know it will feel so good when it is done, but it isn't done yet! Well done you for beginning!

I've been decluttering lately, too! Partly because we have a new puppy and I tend to leave myself reminders of 'things I need to do' all over the floor in my home office (can't do that anymore, unless I just close the door! haha)... and partly because it's January and I always think I will get control of my life again every New Year. LOL

So in one of those weird twists of fate, my younger kiddo is starting orthodontia before my older kiddo. That meant spacers on Monday afternoon and then dealing with a kiddo who was dealing poorly with chronic low grade pain until this morning, and bracketing for the top expander this afternoon. I just can't wait ( ) to see how the next few days go, but it's certainly the beginning of an adventure of sorts for us. I will tell you though, we're getting a short-term kick out of the (hopefully temporary) return to age three - all his food has to be cut up into small pieces, he's talking with a little lisp, and he's drooling (or at least slurping excess spit every few minutes .... which he definitely did not do when he was three).

Oh gosh... I so (vaguely, LOL) remember that stuff, from when I had braces (long, long ago... in a galaxy not so far away)... #NotFun #ButTemporary --- GOOD LUCK!

I have got some braps! (beeswax coated fabric wraps for food) to see if they will be the start of a less plastic lifestyle. This is something I wanted to try and new year seemed a good time to start! So, this is most of my packed lunch for today (packed lunch, also something that I will likely be do a lot of this year!).

Happy new home Nuts!, I have to ask, is he named nuts because he loves to eat them, or because he is nuts?!

AmieN1, maybe it's just me but your photo is not showing. Maybe your server settings are on private mode? OR maybe you changed the place it is hosted?

AmieN1 -- same here -- getting a 'missing image' link thingy up there, and not your actual image.
(is it possible your google photos have privacy settings on them that keep them from being viewed publicly?)

So here we go! I decided this year I won't wait for the PERFECT picture because that is what seems to keep me from finishing my P52 projects. So, reality is going to be my new standard Here is the BEGINNING of my second daughter's 20th year (or really 21st if you count 0-12 months hehe). Oh and I didn't have number 2 candle so I turned the 5 upside down - which meant that it was white and not colored so I turned the 0 backward. Oh. My. Word.

        (1) love love LOVE your candle solution! that's so funny, and you'll love looking back on that and giggling, years from now...
        and
        (2) I love that you realized what keeps you from finishing projects like this, and just went with something you already had (instead of the 'perfect' photo). That's what always trips me up, too! I need to go ahead and post something else for my first week's photo, too, because I had an idea but I keep failing to get it photographed and it's already been DAYS since this started and I haven't posted anything! gah! LOL

My goal is to begin to make me a priority in my life. I make my mom, my dogs, my son and taking care of household matters too much of my focus in life. I need to make myself the first priority in my life, otherwise I can't help anyone else.
