Hi, y'all! It's Dawn from Dawn by Design. I'm here to talk about drink'n.

When the shutdown happened in America, I had a lot of fun every night trying new cocktail recipes from the internet. We were making or buying tons of simple syrup and fresh citrus and different liquors. But over time, I wanted to go back to simpler drinks. I am pretty sure my trusty wine (as simple as it gets: open and pour) triggers hot flashes and messes with my sleep, so instead I've been keeping with the liquor theme of those early quarantine evenings. Which brings me to my current favorite bedtime drink: gin and soda.

Now, I understand that's not really a recipe. But I bring it up here to introduce to you a kind of gin that I discovered that is super tasty: Tanquerary Rangpur. It's a citrusy gin that goes well with just regular soda water and fresh lime. Super simple and fresh and a great alternative for those of us who usually stick with vodka and soda.

Updated to Lavender Lemon Gin & Tonic

This gorgeous, and delicious, Lavender Lemon Gin and Tonic puts on a light show. Using purple gin, you can change the color of this drink when you add lemon and tonic.

Ingredients:
2 oz gin - use Empress 1908 for color change
1 oz Lavender Simple Syrup
1 whole lemon juiced
Tonic Water to finish

Instructions:
1) You can build this right in your balloon glass! First, add ice.
2) If you want to go for some flashy layers of color, put your lavender syrup as the first layer.
3) Add your gin next.
4) Now add the juice from one lemon.
5) This will start the color change process.
6) Top with tonic water.
7) Stir in your glass and enjoy!

Fun story about drinking. I didn't do any during the lockdown. (I know I can't believe it either (probably because it isn't true) #donttellmyboss lol)



RECIPE:

- To prepare it, take a chilled glass and coat with Angostura bitters.

- Add chilled gin to the glass - my preference is Gordon's Pink Gin.

- Finish off by garnishing with a lemon wedge.

- A few ice cubes can also be added to the cocktail if desired.

IKR they have almost five flavours now. The strawberry one is pretty good too. Prior to managing a restaurant I had never drunk alcohol before. Part of the training was to be able to work the bar. Needless to say, I tried every cocktail, real ale, and liquors under the sun. That was a really great 9 months of training. I don't remember much of it though

Ingrédients

• Celery salt for the rim of the glass (optional)
• 1 lime wedge
• 4 ounces vegetable juice
• 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce

Luscious Slush Punch

• 2 ½ cups white sugar
• 6 cups water
• 2 (3 ounce) packages strawberry flavored Jell-O® mix
• 1 (46 fluid ounce) can pineapple juice
• ⅔ cup lemon juice
• 1 quart orange juice
• 2 (2 liter) bottles lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage

Bring the sugar, water, and strawberry flavored gelatin to a boil in a large saucepan; boil for 3 minutes. Stir in the pineapple juice, lemon juice, and orange juice. Divide mixture into 2 separate containers and freeze. Combine the contents of 1 container with 1 bottle of the lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage in a punch bowl; stir until slushy. Repeat with remaining portions as needed.

I love this Tiffany! I used to make something similar for my kids' birthday parties. I would ask them what color Jello they wanted and change it up like that. So, sometimes that mean GREEN punch, LOL.

My son has a beautiful bar so this one is on my list for him to make me.

It is called Holy Water.

1oz Vodka
1oz Rum
1/2oz Blue Curacoo
1/2oz Peach Scnapps
4oz Lemonade
Splash Pineapple Juice

For me it's all about convenience - I don't want to make something; it's grab 'n' go LOL! It's starting to warm up in my neck of the woods, so my go-to drink is a Canadian Club -- whiskey and dry.

I looked that up and it seems amazing. Can you just buy those cans at like, Target, in the wine aisle? Or do you have to go to a liquor store?

Pina colada!!!

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 cup ice
• 1/2 cup diced pineapple, frozen
• 2 ounces pineapple juice
• 2 ounces Coco Lopez coconut cream
• 1 1/2 ounces white rum
• 1 ounce dark rum
• Pineapple slices

Put the ice, frozen pineapple, juice, coconut cream, and the white and dark rums into a blender. Blend until smooth and frosty. Pour the drink into 2 glasses and garnish the rim with pineapple slices.
